Now check whether there is any oil stain on your wall. If yes, it will be difficult to remove with pure water. In this case you may need to use soap solution to wash your wall. You may need to brush the stained portion to remove the oil stain completely.

If your wall paint if not reacted to alcohol, it is advised to wash your wall with it after finishing your regular wall cleaning. It is just to avoid any chances of bacteria on wall. In addition to this, alcohol washing gives a freshness to the wall.
