It is because old stain is difficult to remove compared to fresh one. So you should act immediately after seeing a stained portion on your rug.

Here I am presenting a systematic procedure to remove stains from your rug. Please note that, this tip only works for fresh stains. At first we need to cover the stained portion. We should use clean white cloth to cover this portion and apply some weight on it. This is to absorb the stain from rugs. It is advised to use proper thinner to dilute it and absorb them using white cloth. You can use as much cloth you need to absorb it properly. Now we need to life the stain from deep fibers. To lift it we can use carbonate water.

As in the same way we can use many homemade solutions for this purpose. You should be very careful while selecting a thinner. Different stains need different thinner.
